It would be helpful (at least for us) to include branch in language synchronisation. So, instead of "Reference language" we'd have a "Reference variant".
The reason is, branches are also used for pairing variants. One of our websites has a very tight content set, which is then not only translated, but also localised for several countries across the world. We use branches for the countries, e.g. we have a News document -- branch "main" language "en" is International news in English; branch "canada" language "en" is News for Canada, in English. Creating country-specific languages (en-CA) won't help, because it is already messing up the other editors of the other websites we have on the same Daisy platform.
If language sync included branch, we could get a warning to re-check the Canadian specific page whenever the International one would change. Presently, since it's the same language we get no such warning.
Anyone else thinks it's worth it to include branch in language sync?
